Repentance and Devotion

If you have seen, heard, and known God, then two things will surely happen to you. They are repentance and devotion. If you have repentance, this is the proof that God has come into you. And if you have this proof, then you will enter into God. The proof is your devotion. In this way, repentance means that your life dies in God, and devotion means that God’s life lives in you. This is what it means to say that God is in you and you are in God. Therefore, if you do not have repentance and devotion, even if the sea parted before you, the sun stopped above you, and death passed over you, you would not be able to see, hear, or know God. So first, if you want to meet God, examine whether you have repentance and devotion. Repentance comes to you through your sins as the Salvation of the Cross, and Devotion comes to you through your death as the Life of the Resurrection. This is the source of joy in your life, the subject of all your prayers, and the content of gratitude that you must cherish forever.
