Lonely, Poor, Suffering

If you believe in God, no matter how many people are around you, you will be lonely. Even so, don't turn away from the faith and fall into doubt. You are lonely because God is with you. If you hope in God, no matter how much you possess, you will be poor. Even so, don't turn away from the hope and fall into despair. You are poor, so that you can be filled with heavenly things. If you love God, no matter how much you try to avoid hardship, you will be suffering. Even so, don't turn away from the love and fall into fear. Your suffering is to let you know that your life is in God’s hands. Therefore, if you are not lonely, poor, or suffering, then tear your clothes, put ashes on your head, and go to God weeping. There is no other way in the world where you can live.
