If you don't know God, you are still in the time of Creation. This is why you are now stuck in chaos, emptiness and darkness. The only way to escape from this place is to leap to the time of The End. That's Death. Death is the inevitable event that occurs at the point of contact between You and God. But if you don't know God, your death is nothing but eternal destruction. So know God. Then you are free from Creation to The End, crossing Death.
