Eternal Name

Even if you don't remember all the names of Jesus’ disciples, none of the apostles will blame you. The apostles worked only in the name of Jesus, not in their own names. God hid their names so that their names wouldn't be tarnished. This is why only the name of the Messiah Jesus Christ, became the sign of salvation and judgment, blessing and curse, eternal life and destruction in the world. Nevertheless, what on earth are you trying to raise your name above the apostles? The truth of the gospel is what the apostles received from Jesus and passed on to you. So just as the apostles abandoned their names and chose Jesus, you too should abandon your own name and live in Jesus. That is the way you live and for your name will be eternal. Remember, you will know when you see the twelve foundation stones in the New Jerusalem at the end of the world. Inscribed on those foundation stones are the names of the twelve apostles who you have forgotten.
